JAM ANTIK C0108
This clock dates from around 1880-1895. It is a small sized 8 day table/desk clock made from veneered Mahogany. Note the superb color that comes from age. The dial is white enameled porcelain. The movement is by Japy Freres a very famous French clockmaker of the 19th century. This movement has an unusual Brocot escapement. Only put in the more expensive clocks of the time. These escapements are slightly more accurate and stable than the standard recoil type usually used in French clocks. The movement has been fully restored with new mainsprings (from Germany) and functions almost like new.
